Uche chadh ke dekhya, Taañ ghar ghar aeha agg

Farida jo tain maran mukkian, Tinhan na maraiñ ghum
Aapne ghar jaiye, Pair tinhañ de chum

Farida jaañ to khattan vayl, Taañ tu ratta duni sio
Marag savai neehi, jaañ bharya taañ ladhia

Farida kali jine na ravi-aa, Dholi raave koay
Kar sayin so phirhari, Rang navela hoye

English Translation

1.
Farid, I thought I was in trouble, the whole world is in trouble.
When I climbed the hill and looked around, I saw this fire in each and every home.

2.
Farid, do not turn around and strike those who strike you with their fists.
Kiss their feet, and return to your own home.

3.
Farid, when there was time for you to earn good karma, you were in love with the world instead.
Now, death has a strong foothold; when the load is full, it is taken away.

4.
Farid, those who did not enjoy their Spouse when their hair was black – hardly any of them enjoy Him when their hair turns grey.
So be in love with the lord, so that your color may ever be new.

Urdu Translation

1.
Ae Farid, mera khayal tha ke main hi yahan dukh mein hoon, maloom hua ke dukh tau jag ka chalan he. Yaani ooncha ho kar dekha tau pata chala ke ghar ghar main aag bharak rahi he.

2.
Ae farid, jo tujhe mukke maraiñ, un ko jawabi mukke na maar. Balkay un ke paoun choom kar apne ghar ki rah lay.

3.
Ae farid, tu ne kamane yaani kaam karne ka waqt dunyavi dilchaspion main guzar dia. Apne se taqat-war maut ko bhoola raha. Tu ne khayal na kia ke jab dum pooray ho jayin ge tau umar ki kashti rawana ho jaye gi.

    dukh and sukh are as interlinked as raat and din. guru nanak said nanak dukhiya sabh sansar. budha said sansar dukhon ka ghar hai aur dukhon KA KARAN AADMI KI ISHAYEN HAIN. man has both a saint and a devil in him and devil tempts him and drags him to dukh. human weaknesses are cause of dukh.
