Meanings:
TheewaaN: HovaaN (to be), theeway
Pakistani readers: Is this word in common use in modern Punjabi in W. Punjab?
Would most Punjabi speakers know it? On our side, my guess would be people from Fazilka, Ganganagar belt (S. Punjab) or people well versed in the Sikh scriptures.
Chilla: A cenotaph (usually of a Pir). A hospice is a Khaniqa
Maqta: The poet is eponomously using “shah” (in Shahmukhi this is sometimes written as “shoh”) as the lover, and the rest is clear.

Of course it is a poetry of soul. Evergreen and ever lasting. Who so ever have sung it in every stage have done a great job. Shazia Manzoor also has also done a great job. i have found some mistakes in the lyrics written in roman punjabi which need correction.
