This is one of my most favorite Shiv Kumar Batalvi poems. It is said he wrote it on the death-bed looking at the trees outside the window. I don’t know if that’s true or not but the poem is nevertheless beautiful.

Shiv g de har geet diyan nikiyan nikiyan line’s vich bahut vadiyan vadiya gallan, tajurba, dard lukiya hai jo aam insaan di soch ton bahut parre hai, mein tan usdi shayari agge sir jhukaunda haan. I think nobody equal ur thinking & poetry.
You need soul like Shiv to understand his poetry. Then one can understand the pain beneath each word. Shiv was a real noor which earth will never ever give birth.
